The Hertfordshire SEND Toolkit (Version 3)

A group of Hertfordshire parents and local authority education professionals worked with Herts for Learning SEND advisers to develop this toolkit. This toolkit is to help and guide anyone who has an interest in promoting the wellbeing and achievement of Hertfordshire’s children and young people with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND).
The Hertfordshire SEND Toolkit:

  • helps you find your way around the SEND Code of Practice: 0 to 25 years
  • can be used as a guide to statutory information and duties placed on schools
  • signposts you to essential Hertfordshire documents
  • provides tools to support staff development in your school
  • provides links to other sources of information, advice and guidance
  • suggests things you can read or activities you can use

The toolkit fully reflects the statutory guidance of the SEND Regulations and the SEND Code of Practice: 0 to 25 years.

Hertfordshire Targeted Services Offer for SEND.

The Targeted Services Offer for all specialisms was developed in partnership with specialist services, professionals in education, health and parents. It is a useful reference for SENCOs and for new and experienced professionals, which provides a description of the profile of the child, the recommended support that school could put in place and signposting on how to obtain additional support from other services. The support available from ISL’s Specialist Advisory Teachers is outlined for professionals; this includes helpline telephone numbers, training and signposting to additional support from other services, including online advice and resources.
